Holywell
Town Council had a precept of £120,000 in 2006/07 and will remain the
same for 2007/08.
The
Council has limited statutory functions but does provide much
appreciated services to Holywell and Greenfield including:

Christmas
street lighting and displays.

Wales in Bloom Competition ( awarded 2nd place twice).

Supply
of additional footway lighting.

Development
of Holywell website.

Provision
of street entertainment.

Holywell
Tourism Brochure.

Match
funding of summer playscheme in Holywell and Greenfield.

Town
Centre Manager (one of the first in Wales).

Match
funding of traffic calming measures.

Grants to local organisations.

Supply
and maintenance of Bus Shelters, Litter Bins, Notice Boards, Flag
Poles etc.
The
normal meetings of the Council are held on the third Tuesday of each
month (except August). The annual meeting is held in May. The Finance
Committees are held in January/February and June. Wales in Bloom, Town
Centre and Council Offices sub-committees are called as and when
required.
The
Council has 17
members representing 4 Wards. These wards are Holywell East (4
members); Holywell Central (4 members); Holywell West (4members) and
Greenfield (5 members).
The
political make up of the council is Labour (13), Plaid Cymru (1), Liberal Democrats
(1) and Independent (1).

The Town
Council is served by a Clerk/Treasurer Astley Jones whose office hours
are 9am - 12.30pm Monday to Friday.
